Watercolors, Brushes, Paint Tray

I have always wanted a watercolor set and a little paint tray. Lou gave me an excuse to get matching sets (a gift from Grammy.)

The thing about watercolors is that they dry out but you can just add water to use them again. It works great for us, since Lou’s interest jumps from one thing to another throughout the day. This way she can always bring it out, add water, and go.

We decided to try the cheaper version of watercolors this time. I found a great shopping list at Geninne’s Art Blog. I bought just the primary colors (red, blue, yellow) and white. I chose my favorite red, Alizarin Crimson, instead of her Cadmium, but I will get the Cadmium if we get into watercolors enough.

The cheaper paints are great, and the brushes are the best synthetics I’ve used. We got a simple watercolor tray, one for each of us. Note: Blick art supplies is crazy cheaper online vs in the store.
