Mezuzah Case

mezrolling1

We decided to make some ornaments out of Sculpey. Then I thought, Hanukkah is coming up early this year so why not make a Mezuzah case. A Mezuzah is a religious scroll that is put in a Mezuzah case and hung on the door frame. So we rolled out some Sculpey.

Then we squashed the Sculpey. Lou needed some mom-power here.

Then Lou added some stuff, however she liked, to the outside.

I pressed out the back with a pen, to make room for any scroll that might go in the back. I have no idea how to get such a scroll, but I’ll figure that out later.

Then I stuck a screw in the back to make a notch. I took it out after making the notch. On the wikipedia entry for Mezuzah they said you can use double sided tape, which I found hilarious.

Then we cooked it in our oven for 15 minutes.

I’ll do the ornaments later this week. They are pretty molecular-awesome.

Lou added a little glitter and viola…
