Washing fruit is a great activity that Lou loves to do. It also contributes to the home, which in turn teaches respect and family participation. I brought out our egg tray, which is only used around the holidays, and set it near a colander and turned the water on. Good stuff.

We found some flowers in the backyard which gave me an idea. On Monday I checked out a Montessori Preschool and learned that they love flower arrangements.

Lou and I have been going to a Waldorf parent/child class. I’ll post a summary after the class is over, but I wanted to mention their cleaning style since I just talked about Montessori rugs and cleaning.

So my uber Montessori neighbor came over yesterday and expanded on how they use these little rugs in the Montessori classroom.

Lou is increasingly interested in helping out. I read somewhere that getting toddlers to do chores is on a volunteer basis.
